How Fees are Determined
- Fees for RN shall be set at 1% of the annual salary for RN Level 1 Year 1.
- Fees for EN shall be set at 1% of the annual salary for EN Level 1 Year 1.
- Fees for Affiliate RN shall be set at 1% of the annual salary for ARN Year 1.
- Fees for Student EN shall be set at 1% of the annual salary for SEN Year 1.
- Fees for Assistants in Nursing shall be set at 1% of the annual salary for an AIN.
Subsidised Rates
A subsidised rate is available for some members because they lack pay parity with their counterparts. For example, members working in some aged care and community facilities pay a reduced membership rate because their employer pays them significantly less than their counterparts in the public and acute care sectors. If you think you might be eligible, please contact the ACT ANF Office for advice.
- Fees for RN shall be set t 1% of the annual salary for RN Level 1 Year 1 (based on a benchmark of Aged Care providers).
- Fees for an EN shall be set at 1% of the annual salary for EN Point Pay 1 (based on a benchmark of Aged Care providers).
- Fees for AIN shall be set at 1% of the annual salary for AIN Level 1 (based on a benchmark of Aged Care providers).
Fee Increases
It is the policy of the Australian Nursing Federation ACT Branch that membership fees will be adjusted each year, with the new membership fees to be effective from the 1st of January.
ANF ACT Branch members will be notified of increases to their membership fees at least 6 weeks prior to the increase through the following mediums:
- ACT Branch Newsletter – end of year newsletter
- ACT Branch website
Terms and Conditions of Fees
The ACT ANF policy allows services to be provided only to financial members of the Australian Nursing Federation. Failure to pay membership fees within one (1) month of the due date results in the membership becoming un-financial. Un-financial members are not entitled to the services of the ACT ANF.
Membership can be re-instated on payment of the fee.
Processing costs incurred by ACT ANF
Members are responsible for all costs incurred by the ACT ANF Branch which arise in the processing of membership fees.
Such costs include (but are not limited to) dishonored cheque fees or financial institution charges made as a result of insufficient funds or accounts having been closed.
Temporary suspension of membership
Members may seek a temporary suspension of their membership where they will be on un-paid leave. This includes, for example, unpaid maternity leave or LWOP. Eligible members must write to the Secretary to seek a temporary suspension. The Secretary has discretion to approve a temporary suspension due to a change in work status.
A suspension of membership due to a change in work status will be for a maximum of twelve months. If the suspension is likely to be more than twelve months, the member may be granted Associate Membership. Alternately, the member may resign and re-apply for membership at a later date. Should the member elect to resign and re-apply at a later date, they do not meet the requirements for continuous membership. A member must be up-to-date with their membership fees prior to seeking a temporary suspension.
Members must notify ACT ANF of any changes to their membership status. Any departure from this rule is at the discretion of the Secretary.
In the event that a member retires, they may apply for Associate Membership.
Membership fees can not be reduced to match a reduction in working hours.
